Parallel structures یا ساخت‌های موازی
ساخت‌های موازی آن دسته از کلمات یا عبارت‌هایی هستند که در جمله دارای اهمیت یکسان بوده و با الگوی دستوری یکسان در یک جمله تکرار می‌شوند. استفاده از این ساختارها در بخش‌های رایتینگ و اسپیکینگ آیلتس باعث روان وسلیس بودن متن و صحبت‌های شما می‌شود. همچنین از ساخت‌های موازی به عنوان تکنیکی برای تاکید بر نکات مهم یک متن نیز استفاده می‌شود.

برای بیان این ساخت‌ها در زبان انگلیسی می‌توانید از روش‌های مختلفی استفاده کنید. به نمونه‌ای از این ساخت‌ها توجه کنید:

همانطور که مشاهده می‌کنید در جمله‌ی بالا هر سه فعل دارای زمان یا فرم یکسانی هستند. این روش باعث روان شدن جمله می‌شود. حال به جمله‌ی زیر که فاقد ساختار موازی است، دقت کنید:

در این جمله فرم فعل swimming با دو فعل دیگر متفاوت است. حال به مثال دیگری از ساخت موازی و غیرموازی که در آن اسم‌ها دارای ساخت موازی هستند، توجه کنید:
